Zusammenfassung:A headlight assembly 12 comprises a reflector member 22 and a light source 30, the interior 26 of the reflector member having a first layer 32 of a reflective material and a second layer 34 of an organic carbon compound deposited on the first layer by plasma polymerisation. Typically, the carbon compound is free of electronegative groups, such as oxygen and may be selected from trans-2-butene, butadiene, acetylene, or octadiyne. The first layer is preferably aluminium and/or copper deposited by a sputtering process. A third layer 46 comprising an organic silicon compound, such as hexamethyl disiloxane, may be provided on the second layer. A method of coating an interior surface of a headlight assembly is also disclosed.
