Insert for an inductive flowmeter

A tubular insert (1) for an inductive flowmeter (2) comprises a first section (A) of a first material and a second section (B2) of a second different material which is electrically conductive. The first material section, being electrically insulating, and the conductive material section are preferably integrally formed. The second section is preferably located at an end of the insert and acts as an earthing or sensing electrode for the flowmeter. The insert removes the need for extra electrode components to be added to the insert thus simplifying its construction.
