Zusammenfassung:	The universal joint includes a yoke 11 having a body portion 12 and a pair of arms 13, 14 having respective coaxial openings 13a, 14a therethrough and a cross 15 including a body portion and outwardly extending trunnions 15a. The assembling method initially involves supporting an assembly tool 20, having a recess formed therein, on the yoke such that the recess is precisely positioned relative to the rotational centre axis of the yoke. Then the cross is supported on the assembly tool such that a trunnion is received within and supported by the recess thus co-axially aligning the cross with the rotational axis of the yoke. Lastly, bearing cups 16 are installed within the openings and respectively about the trunnions of the cross to complete the assembly. The tool may be attached by screws or sprung pins in arms 22 engaging bearing cap retainer holes 14c.
