Zusammenfassung:	A regulator for the voltage supplied by a battery 2 to an electronic circuit includes a Low Dropout Regulator 6. This regulates the voltage supplied 4 to the electronic circuit when the batter is substantially fully charged and during the first portion of the discharge of the battery. The battery voltage is monitored and a switching means 8 is responsive to the battery voltage falling to a predetermined threshold to switch the power supplied by the battery via a bypass route 8 to the electronic circuit during a second portion of the discharge of the battery.
