Zusammenfassung: | A seat 1,3,4 has coupled to some portion of it, most likely a seat part 4, by at least one scissor or lazy tong mechanism 5, a footrest 2 that can be swung out. The scissor mechanism features pivotally connected 7, 8, 10, 12 offset 11 generally parallel scissor levers 6, 9 one of which is a spring 9, most likely a helical spring coiled into a block, which is rigid in compression and flexible in tension or under lateral loading. The spring acts as a rigid lever in the scissor mechanism during normal deployment but may bow into a curve (9, fig.4) should a item such as a child's limb get caught between the scissor levers (6,9, fig.4) and as such may prevent injury. The footrest may be activated by a user leaning on the seat back 3. |
