Zusammenfassung: | A door frame comprises two side posts 1, 2 and a top rail 3, each formed of a hollow plastics extrusion. Each end of the top rail is secured to the upper end of one of the side posts. The side posts have reinforcing inserts 4 which may extend for the full lengths of the side posts or may be provided only where the frame is secured to a building opening and where a door is attached. The connection between the top rail and each side post may be a welded or thermally fused connection and may be along a 45 degree mitred join. Alternatively the connection between the top rail and each side post comprises a jointing insert 6 having two arms at right angles to each other, one arm extends into the top rail and the other arm extends into the side post, in this case each jointing insert is secured to the top rail and respective side post by a screw passing there-through. The reinforcing inserts may be hollow or solid and may be of aluminium, steel, wood 5 or glass-reinforced plastics material. |
