Zusammenfassung:	An air intake apparatus for supplying air to an internal combustion engine comprises a unitary hollow enclosure including air compressor (10) in a compartment (58) for compressing air supplied to the engine. The air compressor is mounted on three vibration-isolating resilient mountings (16). The enclosure also includes a compartment (56) for housing a motor vehicle battery, air being drawn through an inlet to pass under and around the battery, though a passage in a partition wall (92), then through a filter (9) to the inlet of the compressor (10) and finally from the compressor outlet (100) the air passes through a diffuser chamber (84) to the enclosure outlet (54) and then to the engine.
