| Zusammenfassung: | An apparatus for detecting a leak 19 in a pipe 7 comprises an acoustic sensor 11 which detects a signal from the pipe, means to convert the signal detected by the sensor into a digital signal, and means to transform the digital signal into a different orthogonal space. The apparatus also comprises a transmitter 15 for transmitting the transformed digital signal back to a remote processor 9. The signal transform allows data compression to be performed before signal transmission. Three identical sensor assemblies 1, 3, 5 may incorporate piezo-electric discs (fig. 5). |
