Zusammenfassung:	A driveshaft centre bearing assembly comprises a first part having universal joint yoke 28 and a hollow 42 bearing engaging portion 28 with the inner race 54 of a bearing 20 press fitted thereto and a tapered 50 second part 30 for engaging a shaft 16 laser welded to the engaging portion. The outer bearing race 56 is pressed into inner portion 60 of a support bracket assembly 22 having a flexible support portion 64. Inner portion 60 co-operates with ring 24 and second part 30 to prevent dirt reaching the bearing. Taper 50 relieves stress in the second part. A hollow engaging portion 28 allows weight to be reduced while allowing increased strength due to an increased outer diameter relative to a solid engaging portion.
