Zusammenfassung: | An addressable array (12, see Fig. 1) of biopolymers is fabricated on a substrate 10 using biomonomers 44 having a first linking group which must be activated for linking to a substrate bound moiety. A solid activator composition 42 is formed on a region of the substrate carrying the moiety, via droplet 40. A biomonomer containing fluid composition 44 is deposited on the region so that the solid activator activates the first linking group and the biomonomer links to the substrate bound moiety. These steps may be repeated, wherein a biomonomer deposited and linked to the substrate bound moiety in one cycle is the substrate bound moiety for the next cycle, so as to form the biopolymer. Apparatus and a computer program product are also used. The arrays may be used to screen for the presence of a target polynucleotide in a sample, by exposing the sample to the array and observing the resulting binding pattern. |
