Tool for stripping insulation from electrical cables

A cutting tool for stripping insulation from an electrical cable comprises a body 312, a guide 328 on the body and arranged to support the cable for relative movement in a longitudinal direction of the cable with respect to the body, and a cutting blade 324, the guide being so constructed and arranged as to act on two opposing sides of the cable to adjust the cable relative to the blade, and the blade 324 being movable in a direction relatively towards the guide 328 so as to penetrate a cable supported in the guide and, by relative movement in the longitudinal direction, slit the cable, the tool further including means for altering the depth of cut at the end of the cable. In some embodiments, the tool has pivoted handles 365,367 for respectively supporting the blade 374 and guide 376.
