Zusammenfassung:	A display device (61) is disclosed which comprises a liquid crystal display (LCD) having first and second liquid crystal cells (65, 66) positioned along a first axis of the display device (61). The display device further comprises a first display driver (67) for driving the first liquid crystal cell (65), a second display driver (68) for driving the second liquid crystal cell (66), and means for synchronising the drivers (67, 68). The display device is preferably used in a portable device, e.g. a radio telephone (fig. 7).
