Preventing snow from melting and for packing snow in an artificial ski facility

Snow is preventing from melting and is packed in a snow cover (3) in an artificial ski facility, by injecting dry air or low-temperature air to permeate through the snow cover. The air is injected into the bottom of the snow cover, through a header (4) having a plurality of outlets (5). The header is preferably constructed in a tortuous shape. The header may be on a platform. High-temperature air may be injected though the snow cover before or after the injection of the low-temperature air. Low-temperature air may be injected downwardly through the snow cover. Snow may be prevented from melting and may be packed in a snow cover (3) by piling snow onto a water absorber member covering a cooling pipe. Refrigerant passes through the cooling pipe.
