A diode switch for RF signals
A diode 30 is forward-biased by the complementary outputs of an ECL bistable 22 so that RF signals may pass between terminals 26 and 28. Rapid switching is possible because there are no biasing inductors. When the bistable outputs toggle, the diode is reverse-biased and the RF signal is blocked. A d...

Zusammenfassung: | A diode 30 is forward-biased by the complementary outputs of an ECL bistable 22 so that RF signals may pass between terminals 26 and 28. Rapid switching is possible because there are no biasing inductors. When the bistable outputs toggle, the diode is reverse-biased and the RF signal is blocked. A diode bridge (figure 3) comprising two diode pairs in separate packages may be used instead of a single diode to improve isolation between ports 26 and 28 when the switch is off. |
