Zusammenfassung:Messages from a client application 111 are placed in a queue 112b for subsequent transmission to a selected one of a number of servers 121-123. The server to which each message is to be sent is determined when the message is placed into the queue, based on the server availability data known at that time and without waiting for availability data for each and every server. This eliminates an unnecessary source of delay. If the server availability data is updated before the message is transmitted, the server selection may be altered.
