Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to regulatory sequences for meiosis-specific transcription of nucleic acid sequences or genes of interest and uses thereof. There is provided a promoter which confers meiosis-specific transcriptional regulation in plants. Such promoters may be used in improving transposon tagging efficiency, searching for apomictic mutants and/or the production of sterile plants. The present invention also provides a construct comprising a promoter of the present invention suitable for searching for apomictic mutants as well as for apomictic seed production.
