In the G4 electrode, the three apertures (20, 22, 24, fig 4) are oblong in shape with semicircular end portions, with the two outer apertures (20, 24) being horizontally displaced from the beam axis to inwardly displace the blue and red electron beams so that they substantially fall on the respective optical axes of symmetry of the main lens (13). |
