Zusammenfassung:	A molten metal is poured into a mould comprising individual moulding cavities and a, directional solidification front progresses vertically from the bottom to the top from a cooled base (5) and a single grain crystal is selected by means of a selection device (4) disposed at the lower part of the mould. The cavities are superposed directly the one on the other, in chain form (1), several chains being placed in parallel between a supply (6) for metal and the common cooled base (5), by means of which the production capacities are increased.
