Zusammenfassung:A cordless telephone system is provided in which a mobile telephone set is ready to operate with a quick communication mode by distinguishing between a situation where charging voltage supply is stopped as a result of complete charging of a battery and a situation where charging voltage supply is stopped as a result of interruption of supply of power due to, for example, failure of a power source. In the cordless telephone system, a control unit (4) in the mobile telephone set (1) monitors voltages at a plus (+) charging terminal (9) and a charging control terminal (10) of the mobile telephone set (1) and decides that the mobile telephone set (1) can operate with a quick communication mode ready for starting to originate an outgoing call or answering an incoming call when the voltages at these two terminals (9, 10) simultaneously drop when the mobile telephone set (1) is unloaded from a charging stand (12). In the event of stopping of supply of the voltage due to, for example, interruption of supply of power from an AC power supply or failure of a power supply in the charging stand (12), a minus (-) charging terminal (15) is electrically opened earlier than a plus (+) charging terminal (14), and a charging control terminal (13) holds a predetermined voltage for a predetermined period under control of a charging control unit (16). On the basis of the voltage held at the charging control terminal (13), the charging control unit (16) decides that the charging voltage supply is stopped, so that the mobile telephone set (1) is not permitted to operate with the quick communication mode.
