Zusammenfassung:	A vent filter assembly is provided for assembly into the wall (301) of a sealed waste container that contains radioactive waste or the like. The filter assembly (10, 60) is disposed within a bore in the wall (301) to filter fluid flowing therethrough. The filter assembly (10, 60) comprises a housing (12, 62) which defines a flow path between the interior and exterior of the container. A filter (40, 90, 200) disposed within an interior chamber (30, 80) in the housing filters fluid flowing therethrough. The housing (12, 62) comprises a body (14, 64), a cover (16, 66), and a mechanism for coupling the cover to the body. The housing (12, 62) is coupled and sealed to the wall (301) of the container to prevent flow of fluid around the outside of the housing. The filter (40, 90, 200) disposed within the flow path in the housing (12, 62) is coupled and sealed to the housing (12, 62) so that fluid flowing between the interior and exterior of the container will be filtered to remove particulate contaminates.
