Zusammenfassung:	In a device for the stepless alteration of the seat depth of a seat cushion of a car seat, a variable-pressure U-shaped air chamber 15 is arranged, on the front side 12 of the seat cushion with its legs oriented towards the rear of the seat. The chamber is arranged between a padded rest 10 and a supporting surface 4, so that an increase in air pressure and the subsequent increase in volume of the air chamber results in the legs of the U-shaped air chamber bearing on stable seat side supporting means, and forward pressure on the padded rest result in lengthening of the seat cushion. The supporting surface may take the form of a mat, possibly of rubberised hair, covering a spring arrangement.
