Zusammenfassung:A wireless switching system for domestic mains lighting that does not require any physical electrical connection between the wall mounted switch panel 15 and the switching unit 16. The wall mounted switch panel consists of a single face plate, the back of which is secured flush to the wall. This panel has no external wiring connections. This obviates the need for mains wiring to be made to the switch plate. As there is no contact switching of the mains the switch panel is intrinsically safe. Operating the switch in the panel transmits an infra-red signal to the switching unit which is in line with the mains lamp. The micro controller based switching unit controls the on-off state of the mains lamp.
