Zusammenfassung:	Main oil passages 19, 20 in the cylinder banks, which supply secondary passages 21...25 leading to regions to be lubricated, communicate with outlets (12, 13, Fig. 1) in a cover (1) mounted on one end of the engine. The cover contains a water cooled oil cooler (2, Fig. 1) and an oil filter (3), oil passing through a cover inlet (7) and via the cooler and filter to the cover outlets (12, 13) which are connected by a passage (11b) in the cover. The oil filter casing (4) contains a valve (14) which is opened when the filter cartridge is removed to drain oil from the casing into the engine crankcase.
