Zusammenfassung: | The operation of a signal processing apparatus, such as an amplifier or an analogue to digital signal converter (ADC), is enhanced by connecting a preliminary amplifier 12 upstream of an amplification stage 1 of the apparatus so as to receive the same input signal as a first input of the amplification stage and to provide, an output signal which is combined with a feedback signal derived via at least a resistive path from the output of the amplification stage (either directly or, for an ADC through a clocked flip-flop and an integrating capacitor), the combined signal being fed to a second input of the amplifier stage. The arrangement compensates errors arising from eg. temperature drift, input offset voltage or current. |
