A non-positive quick clamping device for axial clamping of supply rolls or spools

A non-positive quick clamping device axially movable on a smooth shaft 2 and comprising connected components in the form of a clamping unit and a gripping unit which centres and clamps a supply roll between it and an abutment secured to the shaft. The gripping unit has a casing (4) and a gripping ring (5) which is prestressed by a spring (14) and, under the action of axial forces, increases its resistance to movement on the shaft. An individual axial clamping force can be exerted on the supply roll via a thread (11), by rotating a clamping wheel (13) rotatably connected via a ball bearing (10) to a cone (2). In order to change the roll, the cone (2) is screwed back by the clamping wheel (13) and the positive engagement between the gripping ring (5) and the shaft (3) is relaxed so that the quick clamping device can be pulled off the free end of the shaft.
