Zusammenfassung:Relay coil 17 is energised by transistor 16 only when the input current in, as sensed by resistor 12, is sufficient to switch Schmitt trigger 14. Zener diode 11 provides an operating voltage for amplifier 13 and Schmitt trigger 14. The sensing resistor may be in series with the relay (figs. 7 - 9), and a complementary dummy load may be provided (figs. 8 and 9) to reduce disturbance to the sensing circuit caused by switching of the relay. The circuit may be used in submarine cable power supply systems.
