Zusammenfassung:	A vacuum cleaner, which is convertible between a hand-held vacuum and a stick-type vacuum, includes a housing (12) having a rondure first end (22) and narrowing to a generally oblate, low profile nozzle (166) at a second end, includes a dirt cup (14) mounted telescopically within the opening in the second end and adapted to move between a retracted position within the housing and an extended position. The free end of the dirt cup (14) may receive a cleaning tool (16) having a pivoting head (222), while the inner end is adapted to receive a filter assembly (146, Figures 8A-8D). The housing (12) contains a suction 14 fan (24). The dirt cup is cleaned by withdrawing it from the end of the nozzle and removing the spun-bonded filter assembly (146).
