Zusammenfassung:A three-stage magnetic compressor provides 60 kV pulses to a copper vapour laser at 4.5 kHz repetition rate and operates at 34 kW input power. The circuit includes a step-up auto-transformer 150 and utilizes a rod and plate stack construction technique to achieve a high packing factor in the transformer 150 and the NiZn saturable reactors 50, 140, 210. The transformer 150 has an amorphous tape core. Input microsecond pulse widths are inverted to provide output nanosecond pulse widths.
