Zusammenfassung:A cassette 20 has a movable, e.g. slidable, cover 3 for closing/exposing housing openings (22, 23) and a cover-closing spring 27 (35, 36) in a housing recess 31 between the housing and the cover. The spring has a thickness D (D1, D3) greater than the recess thickness T so that the cover is kept at a predetermined constant distance from the housing surface, thus preventing scraping and debris formation. The housing openings may be for access of drive members and to the recording medium. The spring may attach the cover to the housing, may be U-shaped, and may achieve thickness D by having corrugations (Fig. 4A, not shown).
