Zusammenfassung:A self-propelled driver-operated cleaning vehicle has a hydrostatic transmission providing two speed ranges, a low speed range for cleaning operations and a higher speed for transit. In the cleaning speed range, the hydrostatic transmission provides both speed control and normal braking. An additional braking system is provided for emergency use. This braking system serves as the normal braking system during transit speed operations. The change-over from cleaning speed to transit speed operation is effected automatically on driver demand, and vice versa, by changes in hydraulic pump and motor displacement, effected on-the- go. The switch between braking modes is effected likewise automatically. Rear wheel steering is also provided which varies with vehicle speed and likewise is automatically reduced to zero, on-the-go, when the vehicle changes to transit speed mode.
