Masking device for vehicle wheel

A masking device 1 suitable for use in covering a wheel 2 of a vehicle 3 that is being spray painted comprises a generally arch-form shell body 8 having a generally arcuate wall means 6 and a side wall 7 extending across one side of said arcuate wall means 6 substantially to enclose the interior of said shell body 8 at said one side, and being open at the other side of said arcuate wall means 6. The outer surface 12 of said shell body 8 remote from the interior side 14 is generally rounded and substantially free of topographical discontinuities between the arcuate wall means 6 and the side wall 7. In use the arcuate wall 6 is placed on top of or in close proximity above a vehicle wheel 2 with said side wall 7 screening at least an upper part of the wheel 2.
