Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:There is provided a triggering element (1) for use in a fire protection installation, said element having a thin-walled cylindrical intermediate region (2) defining an elongate chamber which is filled with a bursting liquid (7) and being closed at each of its opposite end regions by respective closure members (4, 5); the closure member (5) at one of said opposite end regions tapering from said intermediate region (2) at a first angle in the range of from 30 to 45 DEG to the longitudinal axis (10) of the element forming a shoulder (9) and then at a second, smaller, angle to the longitudinal axis (10) thereby forming an overall funnel-shaped end formation; and the closure member (4) at the other end region of the element having an outer rounded surface and a substantially flat inner surface (11) defining an end of the elongate chamber. Alternatively the clement (1a) may be substantially conical and taper from an enlarged end region (4) to a narrow end region (5), the closure member (4) at the enlarged end region extending for at least a length corresponding to the maximum outer diameter of the clement, and being provided with a substantially flat inner surface (11) defining an end of the elongate chamber.
