Zusammenfassung:	The rear brake circuit I of a motor vehicle braking system includes a proportioning device (10), normally in its inactive position, and an electrically switchable valve (11), normally in open position, the valve (11) being closed when the brake is applied so that a stepped piston (32, 33) of the device (10) is displaced and a valve (45, 47) thereof closes to produce a proportioning effect in dependence on the respective end areas of the piston, the reduced pressure being available at an outlet (25) and supplied to the brakes (4, 5) through an anti-skid valve arrangement (21, 22). The system also includes a return pump (17) and reservoir (18).
