Zusammenfassung:A composite article, such as a dual alloy turbine disk made from a rim alloy having high stress rupture and creep resistance as well as good hold time fatigue crack resistance and hub alloy having high tensile strength and good low cycle fatigue crack resistance, is described. The dual alloy disk may be designed for use as a disk in gas turbine engines operating as high as 1500 DEG F (815 DEG C). The hub (13) and rim (11) are joined together at a substantially defect-free joint (12) to form a turbine disk having improved properties in both the hub and rim regions. The joint is formed by bonding under a regime which displaces potentially defective material 14 at the joint line.
