Zusammenfassung:	The device for surgical treatment of astigmatism comprises an excimer laser (1) and a shaper (3) for distributing its radiation energy density over the cross-section of the laser beam (2). The shaper (3) consists of an optical cuvette (7), the windows (8, 9) of which are mounted rotatably around the axis (21) of the beam (2), their internal surfaces being surfaces of revolution of the second order. The cuvette (7) is filled with a medium (10) partially absorbing the laser radiation. The device provides for subjecting to the radiation simultaneously the totality of the cornea surface and makes it possible to obtain, as the result of the radiation, a smooth surface of the desired profile.
