Zusammenfassung:A programmable electronic display device (12) having a memory e.g. an EPROM and for displaying selected messages on a wide angle LCD screen on command from a central controller (34) requires only a simple interface (26, 28, 36) between the memory and the controller (34). An enable signal is transmitted in combination with a count signal over the interface (26, 28). The count signal is used to determine the address in the memory from which pre-programmed data relating to the appropriate message is to be read for showing on display 40.
