Zusammenfassung: | A resin film laminated steel sheet or strip suitable for the manufacture of drawn and ironed cans, comprising a copolyester film laminated to a steel sheet or strip with an intermediate layer comprising hydrated chromium oxide, said copolyester resin comprising 75 to 95 mole % of polyethylene terephthalate and 5 to 25 mole % of a polyester resin produced by the esterification of at least one saturated polycarboxylic acid and at least one saturated polyol, said film having a thickness of about 10 to 50 gm, a softening temperature of about 170 to 235 DEG C, melting temperature of about 190 to 250 DEG C, an elongation at break of about 150 to 500 % and strength at break of about 3 to 18 kg/mm , the reverse face to be used for the outside of said drawn and ironed can being coated with a ductile metal selected from chromium, tin, nickel, zinc and aluminium. |
