Zusammenfassung: | Microporous battery separators with an average pore size below 0.05 mu m and with satisfactory high physical/mechanical properties are produced from moulding compositions comprising 5 to 60% by weight of a polyolefin, from 10 to 60% by weight of finely divided silica, from 10 to 75% by weight of plasticiser and from 0.2 to 20% by weight of an ethoxysiloxane. The separators are rendered microporous by extracting the plasticiser with a suitable solvent. |
