PIVOT JOINT

A pivot joint comprises a joint body (1) including first attachment means (6) for attaching the body to one (7) of two members (7, 20) to be pivoted together, second attachment means (14, 15) for attaching a portion of the body (1) in an aperture (23) in the other (20) of the members (7, 20) to be pivoted with sufficient play to allow pivotal movement between them, the second attachment means (14, 15) being provided with sprung retention means in the form of a detent (15) carried by a resilient tongue (14), which detent (15) is movable between a first stable position in which it renders a dimension of the said portion too large to pass through the aperture (23) in the said other member (20) so as to retain the joint body (1) on the said other member (20) and a second unstable position in which it allows the said portion to pass through the aperture (23) so that the joint body (1) can be assembled on and dissassembled from the said other member (20).
