Soil injection apparatus

A seed drill 10 comprises an injection coulter 22 with a fine bore tube 24 welded to its trailing edge to inject liquid fertiliser or the like into the soil with minimum soil disturbance upstream of the seed coulter 28. Both injection coulter and pipe are running in the slit formed by the trash-cutting portion of a front wheel 18. In operation, seed is planted in the soil to a depth set by a conventional seed coulter 28, the wetting pattern produced by injection unit 22, 24 extending just up to or preferably just short of the planted seed. Alternatively the injection tube may be joined to the front edge of the coulter 28.
