Zusammenfassung:	A shearing machine comprises upper and lower blades, clamping and positioning means 35,37 for feeding and positioning a workpiece W on a table 29, a tilting table 31 for removing scrap WS and means 153 for transferring scrap from means 35,37 to the table. The transfer means comprise a cam-actuated gripper 153 mounted on a carrier (149, Fig. 9) movable along a rail (161) to receive scrap from grippers 39 of the sheet positioning carriage 37. The rail (161, Fig. 11) and a scrap guide roller (211) may be mounted to rise and fall to avoid fouling a workpiece during shearing. The upper blade (21, Fig. 3) is held on a plate member (69) by means of a blade holder (71). The plate member (69) is pivotally held on the ram (19) of the shearing machine by means of a pin (75) so as to be rotatable for adjustment of the position of the upper blade (21).
