Zusammenfassung:There is provided a device for the connection of 8-bit (7, 9) and 16-bit modules (8) to a 16-bit microprocessor system (6), providing linear allocation of the addresses of and means for word exchange of all modules coupled to the 16-bit microprocessor system (6), as well as means for increasing the rate of word exchange with the 16-bit modules (8). The modules are coupled to lower and upper data buses and send identifying signals to a circuit (27) that coordinates control of data buffers (2-5). The disposition of the modules and their type is distinguished by means of these signals, whereby different data buffers are controlled to provide for byte and word exchange.
