Zusammenfassung:An impact-resistant ethylene-propylene block copolymer consists of (a) a completely homopolymeric propylene part and (b) a copolymeric ethylene-propylene part, the weight ratio (a):(b) being between 3:2 and 4:1, and the product containing a total amount of 14-20% (wt) ethylene, and having a Izod value measured according to ISO-R-180 at 296 K of at least 30 kJ/m , an E-modulus measured according to ASTM-D-790 at 296 K of at least 900 N/mm and a melt index measured according to ASTM-D-1238 at 503 K and 21.6 N of 4-20 dg/min. The block copolymers are prepared by the sequential steps of (a) polymerising propylene, (b) copolymerising ethylene and propylene in the presence of the product of (a), and (c) kneading the product of (b) in the presence of free radicals or high-energy radiation.
