Zusammenfassung: | A branched type acrylic resin having the formula: wherein R is aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic hydrocarbon residue; X is acrylic prepolymer chain and n is a real number of 2 to 6, and having a weight average molecular weight of 2000 to 200000 and a glass transition point of -20 DEG C to 100 DEG C. The resin is prepared by reacting a carboxy- terminated acrylic resin with a polyglycidyl compound. e.g. a polyglycidyl ether of diglycerol, trimethylolpropane or pentaerythritol. The resin may be further modified. e.g. by reaction at the hydroxyl group with succinic or phthalic anhydride or with propane sulfone. The products are used in coating compositions. |
