Catheter advancement and placement unit

A catheter placement unit is provided with a manually operable lever (L-P). On applying pressure to leg 18 of the lever, the lever pivots causing leg 16 to move the catheter 11 over the needle 10, the movement being stopped when leg 18 engages casing 23.
