Sunbeds and canopies

The invention relates to improvements on ultra-violet suntanning equipment in which the container of the ultra-violet ray source and its immediate electrical wiring and the reflector is remote from the ballast chokes which are connected by a multi-cable, thereby minimising the size and structural strength of said container. This container may be in the form of a moulding or it could be prefabricated from any other suitable material. There is also provided an acrylic sheet moulded in such a way as to substantially fit over such a container as to exclude any injurious fluids such as sweat from entering the container and to facilitate its rapid removal for the replacement of tubes or starters. In this equipment there is a single reflective surface rather than the customary individual U shaped reflectors, this innovation permits the use of centrally mounted ventilation fans which are far less intrusive to the user.
