Zusammenfassung:	An infra-red sensitive homing system is provided for air-to-air missiles in which an optical system producing an image of the field of view (which may include target and background) on a multi-element infra-red sensitive detector includes a scanner that traverses the image over the element array of the detector, the image being substantially equal in extent to the angular sub- tense of each element of the array, the signal output of each detector element being separately amplified and filtered in a respective filter channel, the filter being chosen with a natural frequency and damping ratio such that target signals are distinguished from background.
