Zusammenfassung:	A sheet or block of crystal-clear acrylic glass with a smallest dimension of at least 20 mm, particularly suitable for the manufacture of optical equipment, it contains 0.5 to 1.5% by weight. At average relative humidities, the water content of the acrylic glass is in equilibrium with the moisture in the air, so that there is no gradient in the optical refractive index as a result of the uptake or release of water in the outer regions of the acrylic glass object. The blocks or sheets are obtained by a bulk in-mould polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of the water.
