Garden-engines and crop-sprayers.-Apparatus for distributing fertilizers by means of a stream of water comprises a container for the fertilizers, means for conveying water directly to a sprinkler, and means for diverting a predetermined proportion of the water through the container and thence back to the main current. The receptacle 10 is fitted with an inner perforated receptacle or wire basket 12 raised above the bottom 14, and with a cover 18 secured by means of a bar 17 and screws 21, 22. The bar 17 passes through a slotted lug 20 on the cover and under bent ears 16 on the receptacle 10. A water-supply pipe 25, 27 is connected to the lower part of the receptacle through a branch pipe and valve 31 and to the upper part by a pipe 36 and valve 37. It is furnished with a main valve 30 and a coupling 28 for securing the sprinkler or hose. By means of the valves &c. part of the water supply may be passed upwards through the fertilizer in the receptacle 12 and back to the pipe 27.
