Duplex and multiplex systems and apparatus. -Loading-coils for the four lines of a phantom circuit are wound upon the four limbs of a common magnetic core. In the form shown, the coils C, C' of each side circuit are mounted upon opposite core segments. When two such systems are used in combination for a phantom-on-phantom circuit, the inductance for each system is provided with an unwound core limb connecting the junctions of the segments. In a modification, the fifth limb surrounds the coils.
